Job description
A respected professional services firm in Glasgow is recruiting a Finance Graduate onto its fully funded ACCA training programme. Over the course of the scheme you will rotate across audit, financial reporting and commercial finance, building a rounded understanding of how businesses are measured and managed.
You will be supported by a qualified mentor throughout, with paid study leave, exam fees covered and a structured plan for each rotation. From early on you will work directly with client finance teams, contributing to real deliverables rather than observing from the sidelines.
This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical graduate who wants a recognised professional qualification alongside genuine commercial exposure.
Key responsibilities
Support month-end close activity including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
Assist with the preparation of management accounts and supporting commentary.
Take part in audit fieldwork including sample testing and evidence gathering.
Prepare working papers and schedules to support statutory reporting.
Help build and maintain budgets, forecasts and variance analysis.
Investigate and resolve queries on ledgers, invoices and intercompany balances.
Produce financial models and analysis to support commercial decision-making.
Maintain accurate records in line with internal controls and audit requirements.
Liaise professionally with client finance teams and external auditors.
Support process improvement and automation initiatives within the finance function.
Present findings clearly to managers and stakeholders.
Complete ACCA study modules and attend all required training and exams.
What we're looking for
A degree in accounting, finance, economics, mathematics or a related discipline (2:2 or above).
Applicants must include their degree classification on their CV.
No prior finance experience required — full training and study support provided.
Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large data sets.
Excellent numerical reasoning and attention to detail.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Commitment to completing the ACCA qualification alongside full-time work.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet reporting deadlines.
A professional, ethical approach to handling confidential financial information.
Right to work in the UK.
